Accessibility

SunFest hopes that all guests enjoy the festival and recognizes that some people need accessibility-related assistance.  Many access-related questions are answered below. For additional inquiries, please contact us at access@sunfest.com.

SunFest is held on city streets and parks. The terrain includes asphalt, concrete, grass, and curbs. The festival site is over ½-mile long and parking can be a distance from the gate. SunFest does not provide shuttle or push service. Please come prepared to get around the site on your own!  Some people have found that electric wheelchairs and scooters make all the difference.

Access Assistance at the Information Centers

All on-site Information Centers are the headquarters for access-related information and services. Information Center staff and volunteers are available to answer questions and assist in other ways as needed.

Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available in many downtown lots. In addition, free street parking on Wednesday and Thursday:  200 block of Datura Street and Friday, Saturday and Sunday:  200 and 300 block of Datura Street  have been specifically reserved for individuals with handicapped permits.

Shuttle Bus Service

All buses from the park-and-ride location behind the Palm Beach Mall are wheelchair accessible.  Shuttle bus services schedule is as follows:

Day Hours
Friday, May 2 5-11:30 pm
Saturday, May 3 Noon-11:30 pm
Sunday, May 4 Noon-10 pm

Cost is $2 per individual 12 and over, round trip, parking is free. Children ages 6-12: $1, roundtrip.

Stage Area Seating

All major stage areas throughout the festival grounds offer raised platforms and/or other designated viewing areas for guests in wheelchairs. One adult and any family members under the age of 18 may accompany each person with a disability. If an area becomes over crowded, the security guard or volunteer representative may ask companions to leave the area and make way for people with mobility disabilities. The WaMu Stage also offers reserved seating for wheelchair guests and their companions. Click here for details. Please note that all wheelchair seating areas have limited capacity.

Sign Language Interpreters/Assisted Listening Devices for Musical Performances

Sign language can be provided for specific musical performances upon request by contacting the SunFest office at (561)-659-5980 or email to access@sunfest.com. A minimum of two weeks prior notice is required so that an interpreter can be secured and materials/lyrics can be obtained from the artist. Assisted Listening Devices are available at the SunFest Information Booth located on Flagler Drive between North and South Clematis streets.

Wheelchair Accessible Restrooms

Wheelchair Port-o-lets are available at each restroom area. Accessible facilities area also available at the Meyer Amphitheater.

Large Print & Braille Schedules

Large print and Braille entertainment schedules are available at all Information Centers.

Wheelchair Rentals/Seating

Wheelchairs are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis at the festival's north Intformation Center located on Flagler Drive between North and South Clematis streets.  A drivers license and imprint from a major credit card are required.  The three stages feature special seating for persons in wheelchairs.

Service Animals

Service animals are allowed on the grounds provided the animal does not pose a danger or threat to other service animals or patrons. Owners of service animals are responsible for the animal’s personal care. Water for service animals is located at each Information Center.

Please note:

Power wheelchairs and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed for use by people with mobility disabilities. Two-wheeled scooters or other vehicles are not allowed.
Those who have special dietary needs may bring small amounts of food, for personal use only, into the venue.
SunFest asks for as much notice as possible and needs a minimum of two weeks' notice for any requests for accommodation not already covered by our Access Assistance Program.
